The move is part of OpenAI’s efforts to widen its operations, incorporate diverse perspectives, and speed up its mission of ensuring that artificial general intelligence (AGI) benefits humanity.
Diane Yoon, OpenAI’s VP of People, expressed enthusiasm about leveraging London’s renowned culture and exceptional talent pool to build dynamic teams across Research, Engineering, and Go-to-Market functions. The London-based teams will concentrate on advancing OpenAI’s research and engineering capabilities and collaborating with local communities and policymakers. OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, views the expansion as a chance to attract top-tier talent and stimulate innovation in AGI development and policy.
